The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce Atlantic City FC forward/midfielder Walter Calderon as the ninth NPSL National Player of the Week for the 2019 season.
“It’s an honor to be named NPSL Player of the Week,” Calderon said. “This league has a lot of great players and to be recognized is truly an honor.”
Calderon scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win over FC Monmouth. He has started six games and registered a total of six goals and one assist this season.
“Walter has been a tremendous player for us and is as gifted and humble a player as you could ask for,” Atlantic City FC President Andrew Weilgus said.
A product of the New York Red Bulls Academy, Calderon has spent time with New York Red Bulls II, FC Motown, and Jackson Lions FC. He was part of the FC Motown squad that played in the 2018 NPSL National Championship and led Jackson Lions FC to win the 2019 New Jersey Men’s Open Cup.
Calderon also played for El Salvador’s U-17 National Team.
The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country.
