Blackley’s Overtime Goal Lifts MU Men’s Soccer Over Baldwin Wallace 2-1

Home/College Soccer/University of Mount Union Men's Soccer/Blackley’s Overtime Goal Lifts MU Men’s Soccer Over Baldwin Wallace 2-1

Freshman Kevin Blackley’s game-winning overtime goal, led the Mount Union’s men’s soccer team over Baldwin Wallace, 2-1 on Tuesday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at George Finnie Stadium.

The Purple Raiders improve to 10-8-0 overall and 5-3 in the OAC as the Yellow Jackets fall to 6-10-3 overall and 4-4 in the conference.

Sophomore Ryan Kissinger would put the Raiders on the board in the 54th minute to take a 1-0 lead. It would be Baldwin Wallace’s Ben Deighton’s penalty kick that would tie the game at 1 in the 65th minute. The score would remain 1-1 and go to overtime.

Blackley’s 92nd minute overtime goal would be enough to push Mount Union over the Yellow Jackets in the 2-1 victory.

Mount Union plays its regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 pm against Heidelberg, at Mount Union Stadium. Prior to the start of the game, the team will honor its seniors.
