The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Miami Fusion FC (Miami, FL) has joined the league as an expansion team.

“The addition of Miami Fusion FC brings a lot of excitement to South Florida, one of the most vibrant soccer markets in the country,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone stated. “The team is led by a great ownership group that will bring quality soccer to an incredible fan base in and around Miami. We’re thrilled to have them as the newest member of the NPSL family.”

InteliSport Inc. provides the organization that will support Miami Fusion FC. InteliSport Inc. is a corporation with a long-term initiative to develop and enhance sports business and venues in the United States and around the world.

The organization is led by Ferdinando De Matthaeis, David Cipollitti, and Luis Rios.

De Matthaeis, a former professional soccer player best known for his time with the New York Cosmos, will serve as Technical Director, Head Coach, and Executive Committee member.

Cipollitti will serve as a member of the Executive Advisory Committee with Rios acting as Corporate Image Director.

“Miami Fusion FC will enhance, together with the other teams in South Florida, the already high level of play that is seen in this part of the country.” De Matthaeis added. “Miami has always been considered a ‘touristic’ city and we want to show everyone that Miami and its fans are ready and eager to support and watch quality organized soccer.”

The club plans to get involved directly with local soccer communities, expanding their plan of action around the South Florida area. Player appearances and free clinics will help their players engage directly with the community.

“This project was founded three years ago and it took a lot of planning and strategy before going public with the new brand,” De Matthaeis concluded. “I approached InteliSport Inc. with the vision to create a ‘dream team’ and an elite club with a high quality developmental program to represent Miami and its rightful name. We will have strong support from European soccer experts and be composed of players and staff from the United States, Latin America, and Europe. We hope to gain worldwide recognition by playing overseas and hosting international games.”

Miami Fusion FC will be holding a press announcement in mid-April in Miami.
