Kraze United forward Santiago Patino has been selected as the 14th Mitre National Player of the Week for the 2016 NPSL season.

The Florida International University (FIU) standout scored four goals in a 5-2 win over Weston FC.  He has tallied a total of five goals in four NPSL matches this season.

“Santiago is a fine young man who has the talent and commitment that could take him to the highest level of football our nation offers,” Kraze United General Manager Ray Colado commented. “His work ethic, athleticism and skill were exemplified in the four matches he played for Kraze United this season.”

Patino played in 17 games at FIU, making six starts for the Panthers in 2015.  He would garner five points on the season from two goals and one assist.  His career-high in points came with one goal and one assist at Stetson University on September 6th.

The Orlando, Florida native was a four-year letterwinner at Freedom High School, where he scored 80 career goals.  This included 30 goals his senior season and 28 goals his sophomore season.  He would collect a plethora of awards during his time at Freedom, including Team MVP, All-Metro, and Orange County Athlete of the Year honors.

“I am very honored to be named NPSL Player of the Week,” Patino added. “I greatly appreciate my experience with Kraze United in the last part of the season and enjoyed competing at such a high level as part of the NPSL in the Sunshine Conference.”

The Mitre National Player of the Week is announced every Friday during the regular season.  The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country.
