Home/U.S. Soccer Leagues/NPSL/Pennsylvania Classics Join the NPSL for the 2022 Season

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Pennsylvania Classics (Lancaster, PA) have joined the league as an expansion team.  The club will begin competition in the East Region in 2022.

“We are thrilled to announce the first expansion team for the 2022 season,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera said. “Making a commitment to the NPSL in advance of the season will give Pennsylvania Classics a great runway to promote their team, engage sponsors, and position them to have a successful launch.  We’re confident that they will hit the ground running and have great success on and off the field in their inaugural season.”

Pennsylvania Classics will be led by Doug Harris.

“We are excited to introduce Lancaster to the NPSL and we look forward to providing a quality end product for soccer fans in Central PA,” Harris said.

Headquartered in beautiful Amish Country of Lancaster PA, Pennsylvania Classics were first organized in 2004.  Since that time, Pennsylvania Classics have grown to approximately 900 travel, 350 recreational, and 200 youth development players all playing under the same banner. Harris is the current president of the club and was a co-founder along with current Director of Coaching Steve Klein.

“We chose the NPSL because we were impressed with the quality of this well-run organization and the level of play and competition that will be afforded to our players,” Harris added.

Home matches will be played at Hempfield HS Stadium in Landisville, PA.  The facility provides seating for approximately 2,000.

“We are excited to have Pennsylvania Classics join the NPSL,” NPSL Director of Membership Development Dina Case said. “Their youth club has catapulted itself to being known as one of the premier youth clubs in the region, producing top-notch, talented players who have gone on to play at the highest levels.  Our shared values and philosophy make the NPSL a good fit for Pennsylvania Classics.  I look forward to seeing the positive impact that this will have on the NPSL and their youth club’s continued development and success.”
