The Mount Union men’s soccer team knocked off Bethany (WV) in the championship game of the Mount Union Invitational Sunday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.
With the win, the Purple Raiders improve to 3-1 on the season, while Bethany falls to 1-4.
Mount Union goalkeeper Alex Bable had a total of eight saves on the weekend in his back-to-back shutout wins over Defiance and Bethany.
Thomas Beck netted his second goal of the season, in the 31st minute of the first half, which would hold throughout the rest of the match, to give the Raiders the 1-0 victory.
Mount Union returns to action on Wednesday when they play St. Vincent (PA) College at 7:00 PM at the Mount Union Stadium.
