Mount Union women’s soccer team defeated D’Youville (N.Y.) Sunday afternoon 2-1 in the home opener of the 2014 season. The first goal of the 2014 season for the Raiders went to senior Allison Fouss at the 42:58 mark of the first half. Fouss charged the net and put back a shot from freshman Sarah Jaroszyk that was blocked by D’Youville keeper Morgan Price. Mount Union’s women’s soccer team scored a 2-0 shutout at Waynesburg in the final non-conference game of the season Saturday in Waynesburg, Pa. Mount Union is 7-2-1 after the win while Waynesburg falls to 3-4 on the season. Shannon Evans started the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute as the Purple Raiders would lead 1-0 at the break.
