Mount Union blanks Geneva 3-0 Saturday at Beaver Falls, Pa. The Purple Raiders advance to 7-2 while Geneva falls to 1-8 on the season. Mount Union blanked Waynesburg 5-0 Saturday at Mount Union Stadium. The Purple Raiders advanced to 5-2 on the season while the Yellow Jackets fell to 3-2-2. The Raiders got on the board at the 18:37 mark when senior Gina Wall connected on a through ball from sophomore Taylor Lanese making the score 1-0 heading into halftime. Mount Union’s women’s soccer team defeated Bluffton 5-1 Wednesday in a non-conference matchup at Mount Union Stadium. After the victory the Purple Raiders advance to 4-2 on the season as the Beavers drop to 1-5. The Purple Raiders led 4-1 going into halftime. A goal by Kelsey Malenic with less than two minutes to go in the game propelled the Mount Union women’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Oswego State (N.Y.) in game one of the Blue Devil Clarion Classic.
