Five NPSL Players Selected in MLS SuperDraft

Five players with NPSL experience were selected during the first two rounds of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday. United), forward Akeil Barrett (Orlando City SC), forward Kharlton Belmar (Portland Timbers), and midfielder Eric Bird (Philadelphia Union). Parker was also a standout for the Brooklyn Italians. Parker, 21, joins Whitecaps FC after spending four seasons with the St. John’s University Red Storm of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA)

A Showcase for NPSL Soccer

Part of the NPSL’s mission is to develop players at the collegiate level.  That mission is accomplished if you look at some of the nation’s marquee matchups in NCAA soccer this season. The NPSL Championship game will be played Sunday, August 4th at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT in Richmond, VA. The match will be played at Sports Backers Stadium, the home of VCU soccer.  The match will feature RVA FC taking on the visiting Sonoma County Sol.
