The New Georgia Revolution FC

Home/U.S. Soccer Leagues/NPSL/The New Georgia Revolution FC

The 2016 NPSL season promises to be an exciting one for the Georgia Revolution FC. The motto of the Georgia Revolution FC is “United We Stand” and the fans stand united with their team as they enter their sixth season. The Revs have been an integral part of the NPSL since joining the league in 2011, qualifying twice for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, winning a conference title, and qualifying for the Southeast Conference Playoffs last season.

Under new ownership for the upcoming season, many changes are on the way. Starting with the new President and General Manager, Eric Morrison, with the goal of professionalizing the management of the team. Morrison brings executive expertise along with charisma and a passion for soccer.

Upon assuming his new role, Morrison introduced Juergen Mauer as the team’s new Head Coach and Technical Director. Mauer brings decades of soccer experience as a professional player and coach for adult and youth leagues in both Germany and the United States. With new faces in the front office and on the coaching staff the Revs hope to return to the U.S. Open Cup in 2017.

The Revs said goodbye to the Southeast Conference last season and have joined the South Atlantic Conference along with the Atlanta Silverbacks. The Georgia Revs look to make an immediate impact in their new conference. This change brings in many new opponents including expansion side Tobacco Road FC, FC Carolina Discoveries, Carolina RailHawks U-23’s, and last year’s conference champs the Myrtle Beach Mutiny. While continuing their local derby with the Silverbacks, the Revs will also participate in the I-20 Cup, facing the Birmingham Hammers in the two-leg competition.

The Revolution FC has also created a new crest to compliment the other changes in the organization. Paying homage to the history of the team, the new crest keeps the familiar eagle’s head and patriotic red, white, and blue colors. Transitioning to a circle uniting the entire crest symbolizing the motto “United We Stand” while highlighting the name Georgia Revolution FC and the year the team was established, 2010. A highly anticipated new uniform design will be released soon.

Not all things will change, the Revolution FC is proud to announce the return of Revs veteran Scott Redding, who has been a leader on the team since 2011. The Revs stand united with an outstanding group of owners who believe in the team, our amazing community and fans that stand with us, and our Georgia Revolution FC soccer team, who we know will play with heart and accomplish great things this season. The passion is here, the Revs are ready, and 2016 promises to be an exciting season for the Georgia Revolution FC and the rest of the NPSL.
