Men’s College Soccer: Mount Union Suffers 3-0 Loss

Mount Union’s men’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Waynesburg (Pa.) Saturday, Sept. 20 at Mount Union Stadium. The loss drops the Purple Raiders to 3-3 on the season while Waynesburg advances to 3-3-2. A goal by Chad Palucka at the 18:32 mark gave Waynesburg the 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Mount Union’s men’s soccer team defeated Bluffton 3-0 Wednesday in their home opener of the 2014 season. The win advances Mount Union to 3-2 overall while Bluffton falls to 1-5. Freshman Trever Wendel scored at the 16:12 mark off a through ball from freshman Carter Dunn making the score 1-0 leading into halftime. Mount Union’s men’s soccer team defeated St. Vincent 4-1 Wednesday in Latrobe, Pa.  The win evens Mount Union’s record at 2-2 overall while St. Vincent falls to 2-4 on the season. Mount Union’s men’s soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first 10 minutes on its way to a 5-1 defeat to Transylvania (Ky.) Sunday at the Franklin College Tournament in Franklin, Indiana. Mount Union’s men’s soccer team defeated Franklin 3-2 for its first win of the season Saturday in Franklin, Indiana. Senior Colin Combs gave the Purple Raiders (1-1) an early 1-0 lead as he scored off a feed from sophomore Kevin Blackley  in the fourth minute. The Mount Union men’s soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2014 season to the Yeomen of Oberlin College 4-0 on Saturday evening. Freshman Kevin Blackley’s game-winning overtime goal, led the Mount Union’s men’s soccer team over Baldwin Wallace, 2-1 on Tuesday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at George Finnie Stadium.
