1874 Cup Final

1874 Cup Final New Zealand 104 USA 14 While a good portion of the rugby community acknowledges that such a match is a necessary developmental growing pain for USA Rugby, another cross section of rugby supporters don’t find much solace in moral victories and were vocal about that from pubs to online forums where rugby fans gather. Nearly 40,000 in attendance at FedEx Field in Washington DC watched a clinic in international rugby put on by the All Blacks. A formidable number of those

The All Blackography: The Indispensable Guide to Every All Black (Review)

Cover Art Courtesy of IPG The All Blackography: The Indispensable Guide to Every All Black by Ron Palenski is a beautiful book in more than one way.  The first is from an aesthetic standpoint.  It is a lovely book that would look great in a den or on a coffee table.  It would be a great conversation starter. The second lovely part of this title is the vast amount of photos, information, and statistics housed in just 336 pages.  It literally contains every

Stephen Donald: Beaver (Review)

Stephen Donald is a special player that has seen a lot in his career.  He’s traveled the world as an All Black and also played professionally in Japan, England, and New Zealand.  He’s an incredible character and has grown into one of the most recognizable names in New Zealand rugby. However, his journey hasn’t been easy or short.  He’s had to work hard for everything he’s accomplished.  And what he accomplished was tremendous, 34 appearances for New Zealand at the junior

Every facet of the game minus that little penalty in the end where they scored. We basically gave up no points all weekend, which is excellent. I

Hartville, Ohio Native Puts Stark County on the Rugby Map

Jonathan McDonald isn’t your typical Stark County athlete; he is much more than that.  He was a dual-sport star, participating in both soccer and rugby.  He earned All-Stark County and Second Team All-District honors in soccer at Lake HS, breaking the school’s single season shutout record as a dominant goalkeeper. He also was a captain and MVP with the Canton Maddogs HS rugby team. The unique experience led McDonald to playing college rugby with Notre Dame College, a program that went from
