The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Viejos Son Los Trapos FC (Saint Paul, MN) has joined the league as an expansion team.  The club will compete in the Midwest Region’s North Conference.

“We are very happy to see the NPSL brand grow again in Minnesota,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “Our fans and supporters should be excited to be part of this soccer hotbed.  VSLT FC brings a great deal to our league and we are very happy to have them as part of the NPSL family.”

VSLT FC is led by General Manager Juan Fiz and Head Coach Sebastian Molina.  They are joined by a board that includes Fabian Omana, Arresse Alejandro, Ayora Pedro, DeLaMora Alejandro, and Mendez Gilberto.

Fiz has experience as a player in the NPSL, having served as a member of the 2007 and 2008 NPSL All-Star Teams as a Minnesota TwinStars player.

“The expectations are big as this is the first time raising the level for a Latin team in the Twins Cities,” Fiz added. “Over the years we hope to become one of the strongest team of the region.”

VSLT FC played in the Minnesota Amateur Soccer League last season, winning the MASL’s Division 2 with a record of 13-2-3 and boasting a +32 goal differential.  The team will play home matches at Central Stadium in Saint Paul, a facility with seating for 5,000 spectators.

“We bring the passion of Latin American players and fans to the table of high competition, guaranteeing a different philosophy, one that is based on team strategies that have worked for years in our local leagues,” Fiz concluded.
