Women’s College Soccer: Mount Union Falls on Last-Second Goal to Bluffton

Editor September 9, 2015

The Mount Union women’s soccer team fell to Bluffton 3-2 on a last second goal Wednesday afternoon.

Mount Union (1-3) struck first in the seventh minute on a goal by sophomore Katie Goedecke, her first goal of the season, set up by senior Kelsey Malenic.

Bluffton (2-1) came back in the second half to tie the game 1-1 in the 64th minute on a goal by Ashley Keller.

The Beavers scored another goal to take a 2-1 lead at the 72:06 mark by Brittany Huff to give Bluffton their second unanswered goal.

Mount Union’s Goedecke came roaring back just seven seconds later to even up the score at 2-2 with her second goal of the game.

However, Bluffton’s Huff knocked in her second goal of the game with just seconds remaining on the clock as the Beavers scored a last second goal to beat Mount Union.

Mount Union will return home to host Hiram College on Saturday, September 12 at 1 pm.
