Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) and founding broadcast partner FOX Soccer today announced plans to broadcast both the 2011 WPS Super Semifinal and 2011 WPS Championship matches in High Definition.

The Super Semifinal on August 20 and WPS Championship on August 27, produced by FOX Soccer, will be aired nationally on FOX Sports Net (FSN) in high definition. The Super Semifinal match, hosted by the Philadelphia Independence at PPL Park, will mark the first HD Broadcast of a WPS game in the league’s three-year history.
FOX Soccer has been a founding partner of WPS since the league’s inaugural season in 2009, and has nationally aired more than 64 live WPS Sunday games offering fans across the country the opportunity to enjoy WPS action throughout the season. Television ratings for 2011 WPS Sunday games on Fox Soccer have increased nearly 20 percent year-over-year from WPS 2010 ratings.
