Tim Hankinson, an American soccer coach with over 40 years of experience, has released his first children’s book in collaboration with CrossLink Publishing. The Adventures of Plato shares important lessons about soccer, sportsmanship, and international competition.
“The Adventures of Plato shares with youth soccer players lessons of how to become a great young player,” Hankinson said. “It goes beyond the youth field and captures moments with the USA and Mexican National Teams as they learn about international rivalries.”
Hankinson’s collegiate career encompassed five universities, two NCAA Final Four appearances, and a Big East Conference Coach of the Year award.
His coaching journey took him all over the globe, spending time in Guatemala, Iceland, India, Jamaica, and the United States.
Hankinson received the FIFA Fair Play Award in Iceland after becoming the first American to coach in the country.
Domestically he coached in a number of notable leagues, including the United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL), United Soccer League (USL), North American Soccer League (NASL), and Major League Soccer (MLS). Hankinson received USISL Coach of the Year and NASL Coach of the Year.
