The Houston Hurricanes of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) are proud to announce the signing of two Irish players: defender Declan Brennan and midfielder Sam Cassidy.
Even though both began their collegiate careers at Genesee Community College, they bring a wealth of playing experience to the NPSL. Brennan and Cassidy both played for League of Ireland teams, Brennan with the Bohemian Football Club and Cassidy withCorkCity.
Brennan even played for the Bohemian FC first team when they faced Glasgow Celtic FC, one of the giants of European soccer.
The Hurricanes’ leadership is excited to have such players join their side.
“It was important for our owner to have a couple of Irish boys in the team,” Head Coach Thiago Reis commented. “I look forward to working with them and seeing what they will add to our team.”
The Hurricanes head to New Orleans on Saturday, May 11th to face the Jesters in what looks to be the start of a rivalry that will last for years to come.
