The Seattle Times and GolTV were among the first to report this high honor for the Seattle Sounders forward.
Montero scored three goals and produced an assist in just two games for the Sounders. This is quite an accomplishment for a young player on an expansion team. Many expected Montero to take a “backseat” to bigger names like Kasey Keller and Freddie Ljungberg. That is definitely not the case so far this season.
We look forward to watching Montero develop into a star here in MLS. Hopefully he will spend his career here in the U.S. and avoid the temptations to play overseas.
