FC Hasental midfielder Alberto “Tito” Anguiano has been selected as the sixth Mitre National Player of the Week for the 2016 NPSL season.
Anguiano earned the honor with two goals in an exciting 5-4 win over Deportivo Coras USA on May 7th. He has registered a total of three goals and one assist so far this season.
“Alberto ‘Tito’ Anguiano bossed the midfield from start to finish, resulting in two goals and his best defensive performance of the season,” FCH First Team Manager Eric Warner commented. “Anguiano navigated his way through the physicality of the match with ease, and successfully played in the tight spaces that Coras created.”
This is Anguiano’s fifth season with FC Hasental. He spent his collegiate career with Oxnard College and Cal State Monterey Bay. He earned All–Western State Conference honors as a sophomore at Oxnard in 2009.
“Overall I think the team fought all game to get a result and I was fortunate to score and help my team out to secure three points,” Anguiano added. “I’m happy I had a good game. I want to share this moment with my teammates and everybody who was out there supporting our club.”
The Mitre National Player of the Week is announced every Friday during the regular season. The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country.
