The Columbus Crew (3-3-3, 12 points) fell by a score of 1-0 to the Houston Dynamo (4-4-2, 14 points) on Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. A Will Bruin goal in the 50th minute of play was the difference between the two sides.
After a scoreless first half, Houston notched the match’s only strike on a set piece, as Bruin headed home following service from Brad Davis during a Dynamo free kick. Columbus sustained stretches of possession in response to the Bruin goal, but could not find an equalizer, as Tally Hall earned the shutout for Houston.
The Black & Gold continue a stretch of three matches in seven days with a return to Columbus Crew Stadium to face Vancouver on Saturday, May 10 (7:30 p.m. ET/Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
