The Dayton Dutch Lions FC have announced that open tryouts for the 2015 PDL season will be held on February 21-22, 2015. The tryouts will be held at the DOC Stadium in West Carrollton, Ohio.
These tryouts are open to the public and will be run by club’s Technical Director Sid van Druenen. The top players from the Saturday session will be invited back to join a pre-selected group of players on Sunday. Lunch will be included for both days.
“This is a great opportunity for us to start building our roster for the 2015 season,” van Druenen said. “We are very excited to be back in the PDL and are working hard to build a championship team and bring top-level amateur soccer to Dayton.”
After its initial start in the PDL in 2010, the clubs played USL PRO from 2011 to 2014. Some of the highlights during these four years were reaching the USL PRO playoffs with a winning record in 2013 and advancing to the quarter finals of the US Open Cup in 2012, falling short to eventual winners Sporting KC in front of 17,000 fans.
