The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that their fourth annual Player Showcase will take place on January 13-15, 2018 at Austin-Tindall Park in Kissimmee, Florida.
“Our showcase, now in its fourth year, is a differentiating factor that sets us apart from other leagues,” Showcase Committee Chairman Kenneth Farrell remarked. “The showcase gives our players countless opportunities to be seen by professional coaches, scouts, and agents and it also provides added value to our members.”
Austin-Tindall Park encompasses 115 acres of active and passive recreational areas and is only 9.5 miles from the Orlando International Airport. It is a managed athletic facility that hosts soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, and archery events. The facility has eight fields. A 5,600-square-foot clubhouse features locker rooms, meeting rooms, restrooms, and concessions.
“We are enormously proud that we can give this opportunity to our players at no cost to them,” Farrell added. “It gives tremendous credibility to what we do as a league as our mission is to provide opportunities to our players. There is no question that the MLS Combine cannot cater to all players and that many players are missed. This is a responsibility we take seriously and the showcase is gaining gravitas every year because of the authenticity of the project.”
Past showcase participants that have signed professional contracts include Tyler Pasher, Brian Cunningham, Waleed Cassis, Brenden Alfery, Sachem Wilson, Salvatore Barone, and Jackson Eskay.
The showcase will feature players from all of the league’s four regions: Northeast, Midwest, South, and West. This event is exclusive to registered NPSL players from the 2017 season. There is no showcase or participation fee and costs are covered completely by the NPSL while the player is at the event.
NPSL clubs nominated their top players, 23 years of age and under, for consideration to represent their region. Nominations were then reviewed by a committee, which determined the final invite list.
The NPSL Player Showcase Committee, led by Chairperson Kenneth Farrell, includes Northeast Region Representatives Kabba Joof (Rhode Island Reds) and Roberto Aguas (New Jersey Copa FC), West Region Representatives Rob Lopez (Riverside Coras) and Eric Arbuzow (Beaches FC), South Region Representatives Chris Hanlon (Demize NPSL) and Ryan Lazaroe (New Orleans Jesters), and Midwest Region Representatives Eric Rudland (AFC Ann Arbor) and John Kowalski (former U.S. Men’s National Team coach and Fort Pitt Regiment). Additionally, Stuart Dobson (Tampa Bay Rowdies) joins the showcase staff as Goalkeeper Coach.
Coaches, agents, and scouts that are interested in attending the showcase should register with the league by visiting http://npsl.bonzidev.com/ShowcaseProRSVP. All registered coaches, scouts, and agents will receive a comprehensive player information packet in advance and upon check-in.
Training sessions will take place on Saturday, January 13th with games taking place on both Sunday, January 14th and Monday, January 15th. The full schedule of events can be found below:
