Dutch Lions FC Grows with the Addition of Cape Coral

Editor April 9, 2015

The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions have landed in Cape Coral. After months of planning and development, the world renowned Dutch Lions FC club has opened a team in Cape Coral, Florida.

“It’s an exciting time for Cape Coral,” stated J.P. Terrasi, CEO & General Manager of the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions. “To be affiliated with great clubs in major markets like Cincinnati, Dayton, Houston and recently added New York, it’s an incredible opportunity for us as a club and for the city and region as well. We really have an opportunity now to shine and bring attention to our wonderful city.”

“It was an easy decision to make. The entire Dutch Lions group truly believes in the importance of grassroots initiatives and they have always supported the growth and development of young players. They sincerely want to train these kids to become better while providing the best opportunity for them to get college scholarships or turn professional. It’s really an incredible opportunity for local players.”

Terrasi is obviously excited about working with such a high profile brand name and club.

“Mike and I first started talking about three years ago and over the past few months we’ve spent quite a bit of time planning on bringing their international brand to Cape Coral. We both seemed to have the same view for growing the game. I’m extremely honored to have a partner like him and to have the opportunity to showcase Cape Coral and all of Southwest Florida to an international market.”

Mike Mossel is the Founder of the Dutch Lions FC organization and Dutch Lions Capital Group BV & USA. His vision to create the “gateway to professional soccer” in the U.S. became a reality in 2010 when he started the Dayton Dutch Lions FC in Dayton, OH. Mossel, who played his college soccer years in Ohio with Xavier University, provides a Dutch soccer development model to youth soccer players in the United States with the opportunity to develop to their maximum potential as a soccer player. After Dayton, Houston, Cincinnati, and New York, the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC will be the fifth club in the USA under the Dutch Lions banner. As a board member for the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC, Mossel will be supporting the business with his experience in the soccer industry as well as help on the development side of the business.
