Mount Union’s men’s soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first 10 minutes on its way to a 5-1 defeat to Transylvania (Ky.) Sunday at the Franklin College Tournament in Franklin, Indiana.
Transylvania (3-1) scored in the ninth minute and then again at the 10:03 mark to get out to a 2-0 lead.
Mount Union (1-2) then got on the board as Jack Weber scored an unassisted goal in the 21st minute and the score was 2-1 at halftime.
Transylvania, which out shot the Purple Raiders 18-9 for the game, tallied three goals in the second half for the 5-1 final.
The Raiders next play against St. Vincent (Pa.), Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 4 pm in Latrobe, Pa.
