Myrtle Beach Mutiny forward Jon Ander Ibarrondo has been named the 14th Mitre National Player of the Week for the 2015 NPSL season.
After registering two goals and an assist versus the Carolina RailHawks U-23 squad in a midweek match, the striker continued his scoring streak with a goal against FC Carolina Discoveries.
Ibarrondo has been a consistent goalscorer in recent weeks with five goals in three games and is widely regarded as the driving force behind the Mutiny’s run for the playoffs.
The Bilboa, Spain native is a standout at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He tallied eight goals and three assists for the Knights in 2014, playing in 13 games.
The Mutiny have claimed the South Atlantic Conference title for the first time in franchise history, guaranteeing them a place in the postseason.
