As part of my football criteria this week I had to help one of my former clubs out in a game to raise money, “Save Our Stanley”. Accrington Stanley were wound up by the Inland Revenue and had to pay 300,000 pounds by this Wednesday, October 28th. They have done a lot of fundraising in the community and did a sponsored walk to local neighbors Rochdale before Saturday’s game. I got a good reception on Sunday, scoring two goals in a 7-0 win over the fans. I found out later that the club would be okay off one of the directors by the deadline-great news.
