Late Goal Pushes Raiders Past St. Vincent in Men’s Soccer Action

Mount Union’s men’s soccer team defeated St. Vincent (PA) 2-1 Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.

Cody Dean put the Bearcats (1-5) up 1-0 in the third minute off a corner kick.

Freshman Matt Furgiuele tied the game at one when he scored off a pass from junior Chris Motley in the 33rd minute.

It would be freshman Jacob Sutton that would put the Raiders over the Bearcats in the 70th minute with his first career goal.

Freshman Dylan Lias earns his first victory in net for the Raiders after he came in at the 42nd minute.

The Purple Raiders (4-1) are back in action Saturday, Sept. 14 when they travel to Gambier and face-off against Kenyon at 4 p.m.
