The Columbus Crew (8-9-9, 33 points) fell on the road to the Montreal Impact (5-15-5, 20 points) by a final score of 2-0 at Stade Saputo on Saturday, August 30. The Impact’s victory was fueled by a brace from newcomer Ignacio Piatti, who was playing his third League match for the club. Piatti broke open the scoring in the 40th minute and added an insurance tally on an Impact counterattack in the 95th minute.
The Columbus Crew (8-8-9, 33 points) notched its second straight victory with a 3-0 defeat of the Houston Dynamo (7-13-4, 25 points) at Columbus Crew Stadium on Saturday night.
