Magia FC Joins the NPSL for the 2022 Season

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Magia FC (Miami Gardens, FL) has joined the league as an expansion team.  The club will begin competition in the South Region in 2022.

“The NPSL continues to invest in and attract new teams to the Sunshine Conference,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera said. “Magia FC is coming into the league with a unique development model for players, an experienced management team, and a proven history of success in the soccer business.”

The club is led by President and Owner Carlos Andres Piedrahita Ocoró, Vice President Raymundo Van Hemelrijck, Executive Manager and Marketing Director Gladys Tamara Vargas Garcia, and Manager of Sport Development and Management Victor Hugo Marulanda.

Ocoró is a former professional soccer player best known as “Magia”.  He has been dedicated to the administrative side of the game for more than 15 years with studies in international commerce and accounting.  Van Hemelrijck was a business administrator at the University of Lima before forming a mortgage loan company called Ameristar Properties in the city of Corona, CA.

Garcia is a Venezuelan entrepreneur and businesswoman living in the United States.  Marulanda is a Colombian businessman and former soccer player.  He is an industrial engineer by trade and specializes in business administration and sports management.

“We are pleased that Magia FC has chosen the NPSL as a platform to continue to grow their multifaceted soccer business,” NPSL Director of Membership Development Dina Case said. “The ownership group is dedicated to the development of players at this level, making the NPSL a perfect fit, and we are excited to see what Magia FC will accomplish as a new club.”
