Editor September 23, 2014

A game winning goal in the second overtime by Trever Wendel gave Mount Union the 3-2 victory over Allegheny (Pa.) Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Mount Union Stadium.

The victory advances the Purple Raiders to 4-3 on the season while Allegheny (Pa.) drops to 4-4-1 on the season.

An unassisted goal at the 47:31 mark by Kevin Blackley was the first goal by either team giving the Raiders the 1-0 lead in the second half.

A cross by Jack Weber  led to a chipped ball by Colin Combs then found the back of the net by Trever Wendel giving the Raiders the 2-0 lead.

Allegheny answered with two goals in the 67th minute and 69th minute of play tying the game at 2-2.

In the second overtime, a late game foul by Allegheny (Pa.) gave Todd Cooper a free kick that was blocked by the goalie which Wendel placed in the back of the net giving Mount Union the 3-2 victory.

Mount Union is on the road to take on Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1:00 pm.
