Mount Union’s men’s soccer team defeated Bluffton 3-0 Wednesday in their home opener of the 2014 season.
The win advances Mount Union to 3-2 overall while Bluffton falls to 1-5.
Freshman Trever Wendel scored at the 16:12 mark off a through ball from freshman Carter Dunn making the score 1-0 leading into halftime.
Heading into halftime Mount Union extended the lead 2-0 after a Bluffton foul led to a cross by senior Jack Weber which was headed into the net by sophomore Kevin Blackley.
Senior Colin Combs added a goal at the 72:22 mark after beating the keeper making the lead 3-0.
The Raiders outshot the Beavers 13-10.
Mount Union remains home as they take on Waynesburg in a non-conference matchup Saturday at 1:00 pm.
