The Mount Union men’s soccer team defeated Waynesburg 2-0 on Saturday night.
Mount Union (4-2-1) scored the first goal of the game in the 37th minute when junior Nathan Tirabassi lobbed a shot over the goalkeeper’s head off of an assist from freshman Colton Harsh to put the Raiders up 1-0.
The Raiders scored again six minutes later as sophomore Jonathan Akindipe set up sophomore Steven Dages in the box for an easy chip-in goal to give Mount Union a 2-0 lead.
Waynesburg (0-9) could not get a shot to fall as they outshot the Raiders 18-12 but could not get it past junior goalkeeper Dylan Lias as he recorded six saves in his third career shutout.
Mount Union next travels to Greenville, Pa. to face Thiel on Tuesday, September 29 at 7 pm.
