The Mount Union men’s soccer team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington 2-1 on Saturday.
The Purple Raiders scored the go ahead goal in the 84th minute as junior Nathan Tirabassi scored on a header off of a free kick from sophomore Aaron Liezert to give Mount Union a 2-1 lead.
Mount Union (8-6-1, 3-4) got on the board first in the 49th minute of the match as Liezert nailed a 45 yard free kick to give the Purple Raiders a 1-0 lead.
Wilmington (4-13, 1-6) answered in the 73rd minute as Nick Toney buried a shot from 20 yards out to even the score up at 1-1.
Mount Union continues OAC play as the Purple Raiders next host John Carroll on Wednesday, October 28 at 7 pm.
