The Mount Union men’s soccer team lost to Baldwin Wallace 3-1 Wednesday night in their second Ohio Athletic Conference matchup of the season.
Baldwin Wallace’s Danny Ruple notched the first goal in the 37th minute of the game. Less than four minutes later, Mount Union sophomore Jake Clark (Chardon/West Geauga) responded by scoring a goal after receiving a pass from senior Kevin Blackley (Aurora/Aurora) in Baldwin Wallace’s box.
The score remained tied at one through the break.
Baldwin Wallace tallied two additional points in the second half, with goals by Ruple and Kurt Raney.
The Purple Raiders managed 11 shots on the night, with senior Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) recording eight saves.
The Raiders fall to 2-5-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, while the Yellow Jackets advance to 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
Mount Union next hosts Heidelberg on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
