The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Miami Beach CF (Miami Beach, FL) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will begin competition in the South Region in 2022.
“We are pleased to welcome Miami Beach CF to the NPSL as we continue to focus on bringing strong management teams and organizations to our Sunshine Conference,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera said. “This brand has been recently acquired by new ownership who are making a significant financial investment to develop the club. We are pleased that as a first step in realizing their strategy, they chose the NPSL as a business partner.”
The club is led by Executive Chairman Gregory Polanco, Managing General Partner Aristotel Seferlis, CEO/Founder/President of Soccer Operations Tony Iafrate, Head Coach Francesco Esposito, and Director of Operations Gigi Binaghi.
Miami Beach CF was founded in October 2018 with operations starting in August 2019. Jose Luis Villarreal was the club’s first head coach. Ex-Arsenal player Justin Hoyte and ex-Juventus player Paolo De Ceglie were part of the club’s roster. The club experienced tremendous success, winning three titles within one year.
“We would like to compete for the Sunshine Conference title,” Iafrate said. “The level is higher, but we will be ready.”
MBCF looks to have a lasting, positive impact on the Miami Beach community, bringing in a winning culture while striving to be positive and charitable force in the area. They want to be known for giving those across the world an opportunity to be part of their team and play fútbol regardless of where they are from. A youth academy, women´s team, and multiple men´s teams will be created to achieve this goal.
“Our organization is one of the most ambitious, organized, and successful in Florida,” Iafrate said. “We won three titles in less than one year, and we are willing to bring our know-how and such a vibrant and unique city like Miami Beach. Miami Beach is a paradise and now the NPSL can be proud to have it as part of the league.”
