The National Premier Soccer League is proud to announce its second National Player of the Week for the 2013 regular season.
The winner, for the week ending April 14th, is Orange County Pateadores goalkeeper Jose Miranda.
Miranda had a great night in goal on April 14th in a 2-0 win over the San Diego Flash. The former Cuban national team keeper’s performance stood out on a roster full of stars, including former Chivas USA and FC striker
Maykel Galindo. OC currently has a 2W-0L-1D record.
Miranda was one of seven Cuban players that defected to the U.S. after an Olympic qualifying match in 2008. He went on to play for several American teams, including Hollywood United and the LA Blues.
The award, voted on by media from across the country, is part of the league’s commitment to honoring players, coaches, and staff for their exemplary work. The announcement is made on Fridays during the regular season exclusively on NPSL social media.
