The Phoenix Monsoon of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) are pleased to announce the appointment of Antonio Vieira as the team’s new assistant coach.
Coach Vieira’s main objectives will be player development and assisting the head coach in the implementation of a new team structure.
“I am really looking forward working with the Phoenix Monsoon coaches, players, and staff to further a player’s technical and tactical development,” said Vieira. Coach Vieira will focus on the implementation of a broad development program and the launch of a new training regiment.
Vieira has a very distinguished professional career with an impressive list of coaching successes at every level. He has served as the head coach for the Belize National Team, Botafogo, Juventus F.C. Campeonato Ecuatoriano, and Club Deportivo Aguila. Vieira holds a Brazilian license and other coaching diplomas.
Phoenix Monsoon General Manager Oscar Guardado stated, “The goal of the team this year is to have a successful season and become an active player development organization, state and nationwide.”
Other goals include improving game attendance, gaining team recognition in the Phoenix sports market, enhancing community-related events, and broadening television and radio coverage for the team.
