Ryan Kissinger and Matt Furgiuele each had one goal in Mount Union men’s soccer 2-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.
Kissinger’s goal, his first of the season, came in the 23rd minute when he received a pass from Thomas Beck.
The Purple Raiders would score again the 61st minute on a foul called against the Presidents, Furgiuele would kick the ball from out of bounds and the ball would go over the goalie’s head.
The Presidents outshot the Raiders 16-14, while Dylan Lias got the start and notched his first career shutout with eight saves.
Mount Union improves to 5-3 on the season while Washington & Jefferson falls to 3-4.
The Raiders next play Tuesday at 7: 30 p.m. against Allegheny in Meadville, PA.
