Junior Coty Lipply  scored the lone goal as Mount Union’s men’s soccer team fell to Allegheny (PA) College, 3-1 Tuesday night in Meadville, PA.

Mount Union (5-4-0) scored in the first 2 minutes of play, when senior Thomas Beck would connect with Lipply who would put it in the top left corner of the net.

The Purple Raiders would hold that lead until the 45th minute when Allegheny (5-4-2) would tie the game at 1-1 going into the half.

The Gators would go on to score in the 50th minute off a free kick and then again in the 79th minute, as Allegheny would hold on to get the 3-1 victory.

In goal for the Raiders, freshman Dylan Lias played all 90 minutes, but suffered the loss and is now 1-2 overall for the season. He had three saves and faced 23 shots.

Mount Union plays its final non-conference match-up Saturday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. against Waynesburg in Waynesburg, PA.
