Mount Union’s women’s soccer team scored a 2-0 shutout at Waynesburg in the final non-conference game of the season Saturday in Waynesburg, Pa.
Mount Union is 7-2-1 after the win while Waynesburg falls to 3-4 on the season.
Shannon Evans started the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute as the Purple Raiders would lead 1-0 at the break.
Allison Fouss would put the game away with a score in the 81st minute.
The back and forth game included 17 shots for Mount Union and 14 for Waynesburg, but Raider keeper Maria Favorite had seven saves as she notched her sixth shutout of the season.
Mount Union opens Ohio Athletic Conference play next Saturday at 1 pm against Ohio Northern at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
