Home/U.S. Soccer Leagues/NPSL/Myrtle Beach FC Mutiny Announces Coaching Staff

Myrtle Beach FC Mutiny is proud to introduce its coaching staff for the 2013 season. Calling the plays this year as Mutiny dual-coaches will be Joel Banta and Ross Morgan, a responsibility they will share with Pat Piscitelli, who returns as the team’s goalkeeper coach.

“We’ve been working on how to improve the team both on and off the field since the end of the 2012 NPSL season and we’re very excited that Ross and Joel have decided to join the Mutiny,” Hogner said. “Both of them are highly respected on the South Carolina soccer scene and know what it takes to be successful and win championships.”

This dynamic duo replaces Patrick Olalere.

Joel Banta is the current Director of Coaching at Coast FA and is Myrtle Beach born and raised. He led both the Myrtle Beach High School Boys and Girls Programs to the ranks of the elite in the state, having also coached at Lowcountry Day School and Socastee High School.  Coach Banta’s playing experience includes playing for Coastal Carolina University, appearing in the 1995 NCAA Tournament.  He holds a USSF C License.

Ross Morgan is a British national from Cardiff, Wales. His coaching career spans over the past 15 years, of which 9 years were in the U.K.  He is a past staff for the Welsh F.A., received the FAW Prelim Award in 1994, UEFA C license conversion in 1998, and the UEFA B license in 1999. He completed Part 1 of the UEFA A license in 2003 and Part 2 in 2005. Coach Ross is also the current Director of Coaching at Coast FA.

Pat Piscitelli is the only returning member from the 2012 staff and is a former professional goalkeeper with the South Carolina Shamrock. He is a native of New Jersey, but has been in the Carolinas for the last 15 years. He played his college soccer at Mars Hill College, where he is now a member of the Mars Hill College Athletic Hall of Fame. After his playing career was over he became the assistant men’s and women’s coach at Wingate University. He earned his NSCAA National Diploma and Goalkeeper Diploma in 2001. Coach Piscitelli also was an assistant coach at Francis Marion University for the men’s team.
