The Ohio Galaxies FC Women’s team tied the Ohio Premier SC Women’s team 2-2 in a tough battle on Wednesday night at Xavier University in Cincinnati.
The first goal was scored by Madison Melnick, assisted by Brooke McCurdy early in the first half. Ohio Premier responded later in the half with a goal tying the half at 1-1. OGFC scored the go ahead goal midway through the second half, making the score 2-1. The second goal was scored by Sami Rutowski, and assisted by Adrianna Guerrero. With minutes to go, OP countered with a tying goal to end the match 2-2.
Galaxies head coach Chris Black stated, “The game was disappointing; anytime you are seconds away from winning and they score it is always tough to swallow. But we have a very good team and we will learn from it and move on.”
The next 2 games will be very exciting as the Ohio Galaxies looks to improve their record.
The Galaxies will be playing Saturday July 7th, 7:00 pm at Wright State University against Fort Wayne Soccer Club. This is followed by a Sunday game on the 8th at 7:30 pm at Wright State University with a rematch against Ohio Premier SC.
