Philadelphia Union gained long awaited revenge against Columbus Crew SC with a 3-0 victory at PPL Park Wednesday night. C.J. Sapong was the first to mark a tally, finding the back of the net from Sebastien Le Toux and Cristián Maidana’s assist in the 41st minute. Capitalizing Steve Clark’s error, Vincent Nogueira scored his fifth career goal for the Union in the 52nd minute. Le Toux finalized the score in the 58th minute, scoring from defender Sheanon Williams’ strong run and assist.
Philadelphia Union return to PPL Park on Saturday, June 5 at 7 p.m. to face New York City FC. Crew SC next plays on Saturday, June 6 when it returns to MAPFRE Stadium to host the Montreal Impact.
