Pryceless: The Leon Pryce Story (Review)

Editor July 1, 2018

Leon Pryce is an absolute rugby legend, having played for some of the biggest names in the game.  We’re talking about the likes of England, Great Britain, Bradford Bulls, St. Helens, Catalans Dragons, and Hull FC.  He’s seen and experienced a great deal despite being only 36.

Pryceless: The Leon Pryce Story from Great Northern Books is a great autobiography that tackles every aspect of Pryce’s life and career.  It’s quite refreshing to see a sporting legend be truly humble, even critical of themselves.  This title is work of art, but also one of reflection as Pryce, along with his legions of fans, takes a trip down memory lane.

It covers all of the highs and lows, the trials and tribulations.

Readers are treated to a conversational style that allows them to feel very close to Pryce as he takes them through an incredible journey of growth, stardom, and resilience.  Pryce doesn’t shy away from controversial moments; he takes them head on with incredible grace and determination.

This book will teach you about rugby, but also about life.  It’s easily one of the best rugby titles that we have ever reviewed.  A legendary player should have a legendary book and that is exactly what happened here.  That doesn’t always happen, making this an absolute must-have for any rugby fan.  It’s truly special, an enjoyable read from start to finsh.

You’ll definitely learn about Leon Pryce, but you will also leave with a better understanding of what it takes to make it at the highest levels of the global game.  You will also have a better appreciation for Pryce’s accomplishments, which are numerous.  This proves to be a title that you can’t miss.
