The University of Akron (0-1) women’s soccer team fell in the regular season opener to Purdue University (1-0) by a score of 5-0 on Friday evening at the Boilermaker Complex. In their first game of Boilermaker Cup, Akron was unable to push a goal past the Purdue defense. Purdue’s starting goalkeeper, Clara Kridler, shutout Akron in the first half with two saves.
