The Peoria, IL native scored a hat trick in Madison’s 3-1 win over the Minnesota United Reserves. It was the twenty-year-old’s NPSL debut. Whalen, who is a standout at Western Illinois University, scored one goal during four appearances as a sophomore in 2014 after scoring three goals and starting 17 matches as a freshman in 2013. The NPSL is pleased to announce that the following 8 teams will be participating in the 100th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup: Brooklyn Italians Chattanooga FC FC Hasental FC Lehigh Valley United Sonic Georgia Revolution Madison 56ers New York Red Bulls U-23s Sacramento Gold Opponents as well as game times and dates will be determined by the draw that will take place in late April.
