The Vortex will be officially unveiled on Thursday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m. in Canton, Ohio. The PASL club is led by CEO Nick Bogdan and Head Coach Denzil Antonio. The club will split its home matches between Cleveland (Metroplex) and Canton (Civic Center).
The Ohio Vortex have tenatively scheduled their official press conference for Wednesday, October 21. Some major announcements are expected including details about their sponsors, ownership group, and head coach.
The PASL-Pro announced their schedule this week and it contained lots of exciting matchups for the Ohio Vorex of Canton. Most suspect that the expansion squad will be very competitive with a strong head coach and experienced players. The official press conference for the Vortex is expected on October 14. We will be sure to provide coverage from the event.
This has been a great week for soccer fans in Ohio. The Columbus Crew put away Saprissa in Costa Rica, which was a monumental accomplishment. Estadio Ricardo Saprissa has not been the most pleasant environment for U.S. teams in the past. The Crew look to be the favorites for the Supporters’ Shield and the MLS Cup. Multiple sources have reported to us that the Cleveland City Stars will be making a major announcement by the end of the week. The sale of the club will definitely be announced before the club’s End of the Year Banquet on Monday, September 21. Unfortunately, two of our sources suggest that moving the team out of Cleveland is still a possibility. It would be a major blow for the beautiful game in Ohio.
