Photo Credit: Western Illinois Athletics Madison 56ers forward Drew Whalen has been named the ninth Mitre National Player of the Week for the 2015 NPSL season. The Peoria, IL native scored a hat trick in Madison’s 3-1 win over the Minnesota United Reserves. It was the twenty-year-old’s NPSL debut. Whalen, who is a standout at Western Illinois University, scored one goal during four appearances as a sophomore in 2014 after scoring three goals and starting 17 matches as a freshman in 2013.
