Our friends at Y Lolfa put out great football titles all year long.  The Manchester United Welsh from Gwyn Jenkins and Ioan Gwyn is their latest offering and it is a brilliant read from start to finish.

You’ll hear about some of football’s all-time greats including the amazing Billy Meredith, Jimmy Murphy, Mark Hughes, and Ryan Giggs.  It’s also a great history of Manchester United and Welsh football, dating all the way back to the 1800s where Newton Heath was a football club of the highest regard and Wales rarely beat England.

Things have obviously changed with Man U becoming one of the world’s biggest sporting brands and Wales making a big splash, call it a tidal wave, at Euro 2016. Jenkins and Gwyn are clearly experts on the topic and their storytelling abilities are unparalleled.  Reading this one is a great trip down memory lane, a reminiscent look at some footballing legends.

While the book is a pleasant read at only 123 pages, it is jam-packed with information and will go fast.  It is a true resource on the subject, something that any football fan would enjoy and even refer back to.  You can’t go wrong with this one.
