Oberlin recorded 9 shots in the first half, all of which were saved by senior Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls). The Purple Raiders (1-2-2) attempted to get on the board in the first half with shots from freshman Jon Schroeder (Parma/Normandy) and juniors Aaron Liezert (Medina/Medina) and Scott Welker (Solon/Solon). The only point scored in the half was by Geneva’s (2-2-1) Gib McCracken in the 34th minute of the game, which came after a free kick by Jake Broadwick.

The Purple Raiders scored the go ahead goal in the 84th minute as junior Nathan Tirabassi scored on a header off of a free kick from sophomore Aaron Liezert to give Mount Union a 2-1 lead.
